Press Release: All Directors, Heads of Parastatals, ANCOPSS, and Principals

To: All Principals,

I am directed to inform you that the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, under the leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, Prof. Ahmad Ladan Ala, has officially cancelled the collection of fees for examination slips, answer sheets, and certificates.

Henceforth, no principal is permitted to charge students for any of the above items. All such materials must be provided exclusively through your monthly Cash Allocation (CA).

The only fee that may be charged by school authorities remains the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) fee.

Additionally, with immediate effect, each time a principal receives the CA, it becomes mandatory to:

1. Convene a general staff meeting to discuss and agree on the list of items to be procured for that month;

2. Establish a procurement committee from among the staff to carry out the purchases;

3. Appoint a secretary to record minutes of the meeting, including:

Names and signatures of all staff in attendance;

A list of agreed items for procurement.

Please note that the meeting minutes and attendance sheet must be submitted to the Ministry along with the monthly retirement template for the CA.

Your full compliance with these directives is mandatory.
